Commercial printers   generate £95,000 of price increases

A TBD transformation programme was carried out at a £1.9 million commercial printing firm operating in a highly price sensitive market.

The programme generated a range of thirty improvement projects. Six of these projects were concerned with disparate problems affecting different departments including invoicing, estimating, work order processing, overhead rate calculations, delivery deadlines, and information handling.

Improvement impact

The net result of team based root cause analysis and process redesign was that these six projects alone developed a range of improvements to the Sales Order Processing system. And this fed through to generate effective increases in the pricing structure equivalent to an estimated 5% of existing turnover.

The net benefit was £95,000 per annum for a few hours work.
