Tooling company saves £328,000 Importer and manufacturer of diamond cutting tools with £1.75 million turnover and average net profit of £2,000 pa. Over six weeks, A TBD transformation programme helped the senior team to plan and instigate 26 improvement projects. The result was a projected net profit of £328,000 p.a.
Plastics factory saves £200,000 Pressure on prices, rising material costs, increasing energy costs and stagnant sales were reducing profits at this high tech, family owned, plastics injection moulding factory.
TBD was deployed to save £258,000 p.a. at the same time as to implement a delicate transition in senior management. The team planning instigated 33 prioritised improvement projects.
Manufacturer improves capacity by 50% A TBD rapid transformation programme was carried out at a concrete batching plant manufacturer that was losing £200,000 per year. Sales in recent years had dropped significantly under second-generation management from £6 million p.a. to £2.9 million per year.
The TBD programme planned changes to the work order processing system and production control valued at £352,773 in savings and benefits annually.
New focus for boat builders TBD was used to resolve a paralysing conflict at a £5 million p.a. failing RNLI lifeboat manufacturer. Opinion within the board had polarised between two opposite and conflicting strategic directions. Tempers were rising and critical time was lost while there was an impending drop in new RNLI commissions.
Print merger saves £584,000 TBD helped merge two distinct and conflicting cultures at a loss making commercial printing company.The company had recently acquired a fine art printing firm and this had exposed major contrasts in sales approach, attitudes to quality, customer service and estimating.
Commercial printer generates price increases A TBD transformation programme was carried out at a £1.9 million commercial printing firm operating in a highly price sensitive market. The programme generated a range of thirty improvement projects. Six of which enabled prices increases equivalent to £95,000 per year.
Taylor made for profit This specialist quality bespoke manufacturer of embroidered clothing had grown over fifteen years to a staff level of twelve and with a turnover of £2.2 million. Unfortunately during the early part of 2008 the company experienced a temporary but abrupt downturn in sales. A TBD rapid transformation programme generated savings and benefits of approximately £95,000 for the full twelve months trading.
